About me
Binit Kumar is a Senior Software Engineer at Rocket Software, specializing in the development of open-source drivers for IBM Db2. With over 8 years of deep-tier experience, he has been a driving force behind the DB2 open-source connectivity ecosystem(especially RUST and PERL, including work on JCC, PureQuery, DSM (CMz), and IBM SPS (RDA). Most notably, Binit led the ground-up creation of the Rust driver for Db2 and expanded the ecosystem with Kotlin and Scala support.As a core contributor to the IBM Db2 v12.1.4 release from the Db2 Connect open-source team, he recently spearheaded the Perl driver migration for RHEL 10 and Perl 5 compatibility. A long-time IDUG attendee turned first-time presenter, Binit is passionate about turning complex development hurdles into streamlined paths for others. When not coding, he is an avid reader of mythological thrillers and an AI enthusiast who integrates "copilot" workflows into every stage of the development lifecycle.
