This session is about deep dive technical details of how Z data is integrated with other platforms and solutions. This is an architectural, use case and product level technical session. There will be latest news from zSW Development and Product Management in the context of Data Management, focused on Db2 for z/OS. The goal of this session is

This session will show and explain how to reliably monitor and manage critical limits within Db2 on z/OS along with real world examples from Banco Itaú. Starting with relatively basic simple things like DSSIZE or PIECESIZE. Moving on to Linear Dataset limits (32 for segmented spaces, 254 for LOB). We then will have a quick look at how the COPYPOOL is looking before diving off to the world of PBGs, where you must be aware of MAXPARTITONS among other things. Then we will review SEQUENCES and Numeric Primary Key usage before finally delving into the abstract limit of Db2 within the Db2 engine including DBATs etc.

There are significant performance, availability and resilience enhancements in Db2 13 for z/OS. This session will introduce and discuss the major enhancements, and provide insight on the use case and design point for each enhancement. This session will cover the following topics:
• Online removal of active log dataset
• Online migration from PBG UTS to PBR UTS table spaces
• ALTER TABLE DATA CAPTURE concurrency enhancement
• User controls to improve the ability for SQL DDL operations to succeed and/or reduce application service
• RUNSTATS and Page-level Sampling
• Enhancements to Fast Traversal Block (FTB) feature
• Virtual and real memory contraction

• Reduce number and frequency of DBAT terminations

Ensuring high availability and resilience is a core requirement for modern enterprise data platforms. In Db2 Data Sharing environments, lock structures are a fundamental component for maintaining system stability and consistent performance under continuous, mission-critical workloads. 

At Itaú Unibanco S.A., Db2 for z/OS supports essential banking applications operating 24x7, across transactional and batch workloads in a large-scale production environment. As part of its ongoing resilience and architecture evolution strategy, Itaú adopted the Db2 Lock Structure Asynchronous Duplex capability. This implementation strengthened the platform’s resilience posture by increasing fault tolerance, enhancing operational continuity during infrastructure maintenance, and reinforcing overall system stability.

In this presentation, specialists from Itaú and IBM share practical insights from the initiative, including architectural motivations, implementation considerations, testing approaches, and results achieved. The discussion highlights how close collaboration between client and vendor supported the successful adoption of advanced Db2 z/OS capabilities in a complex enterprise environment.

This session is deep dive technical details about Db2 Analytics Accelerator on IBM Z with latest V8 product updates, new capabilities, with migration details. There will be z17 and LinuxONE 5 Migration Experiences with V7 and V8, platform specific details, migration planning and deployment details.

Session will contain IBM Z platform specific details z17 and LinuxONE 5, in the context of Accelerator such as machine configuration, CBU and Flex Capacity usage, different architecture alternatives for different business needs including GDPS usage with 2-, 3-, 4- site GDPS alternatives.  

There will be Lessons Learned from PoCs, current implementations, architecture discussions and health checks.

In this session we will share our experiences with the latest features introduced with Function Levels M506, M507, M508, and M509. Many of their functionalities were requested and awaited by Banco do Brasil.
